Council member and co-meeting coordinator Anne Broyles will share the story behind the story of her children’s picture book, PRISCILLA AND THE HOLLYHOCKS. Priscilla was a real-life enslaved child who walked the Trail of Tears with her Cherokee owners. What was it like to write a book that included the reality of Cherokee slave owners? Anne will describe the process of researching and writing a children’s book, working with an illustrator and how this book evolved.

 

Raffle items will include copies of Anne’s four picture books.
